Today’s introduction to the class covered largely topics with which I was familiar, having previously read some on Newbigin and having already been introduced to the idea of contemporary culture as a mission field. It is encouraging, however, to be in a class that will emphasize this approach to culture – it seems a necessary corrective for a church that appears to be losing much of its influence upon the developed Western world.
